china born and china bred, i love china very much. i’m proud that i havegot the beautiful yellow skin, black eyes and black hair. i’m also proud that ispeak the most beautiful language in the world——chinese. when i heard thatchina, our motherland, would have a chance to hold the 20__ olympic games, ifelt very happy and excited, and i hoped i could do something useful to buildchina into a beautiful and energetic country.
in the 21st century, the environment is becoming more and more important,so we have "green olympic" as a slogan. of course a slogan is just a goal. themost important thing is that we should do some things to make it true. such assorting the trash, saving the energy and so on. we are still students now, so wecan't do anything really big, but if everybody does something good for ourenvironment, we could make our motherland more beautiful.
in fact, the things we can do are easy. like not littering used batterieseverywhere, sorting the trash that we want to throw away, and also protectingthe animals and plants around us.
luckily, i had a chance to take part in an activity, that is, we planted 5trees everybody in our campus. my classmates and i worked very hard. thisactivity is not only about planting trees, but also contributing to ourenvironment. look at the trees, i believe, tomorrow there will be more trees andflowers standing in our campus and giving chinese people a beautifulenvironment.

as students, we could share more time with our friends. the friendship in our young hearts is pure, fresh and simple. i often feel very lucky to have a lot of good friends. especially when i had justin as one of my best friends. justin was my english teacher from the usa. i met him in 1996 when i was a student who could only speak very little english. justin was a vivid young man with a bright smile on his face, and he always had his special way to make the class active and attractive. he taught us english by telling stories, playing games, singing songs, and even dancing. i could still remember very clearly that one afternoon when we fin-ished our class, we went to some other classes to sing songs for them, just like what people do in the states on christmas eve. it was so interesting and unforgettable. justin was an excellent teacher, because he taught us not only how to study english well, but also the way to find out the beauty of the world and the way to be angels to others' lives. i know there was friendship and pure love in our hearts. facing this valuable emotion neither nationality nor age was important, the real importance lay in faith, under-standing, and care. justin is the best friend i have ever had, and i know i will cherish those days of staying together with him as the best part of my memory.

the lion dancers are always part of the festivities. the lion has a big head and long body made of cloth. the lion dance is accompanied by drums, cymbals and noisy firecrackers. according to ancient traditions the great noise frightens away evil spirits.

kids for kerry is a grassroots organization of kids that support john kerry, want to help their futures, and get active in politics.
when my parents went to see teresa heinz kerry speak, they told me that she was amazing! -- and that they thought john kerry would make a great president. i decided to find out more about john kerry. i talk about what i learned by using my abcs.
a is america. john kerry is a hero to america, and he will help our futures. he is a great and positive role model.
b is better education. john kerry wants to make class sizes smaller, so that children get the best part out of learning. he wants to help teachers because being a teacher is educating children, and letting them out into the world to do good things.
c is compassion towards children. john kerry wants to make sure that health care is not a privilege, but it is something that we can all afford.
this summer, i was supposed to go to my favorite camp. but instead, i decided to go to the john kerry office every day. kids can really help!

our next goal is to have a petition for national no name-calling day, a day that the candidates don't say anything negative about one another. when our vice president had a disagreement with a democratic senator, he used a really bad word.
